With the objective of promoting discipline and teamwork, workshops of the Martial Arts School were held at the Pies Descalzos de Cartagena Educational Institution. This, within the framework of the development of the necessary tools to face life; so that our students can be engines of change in their community.

This was an initiative of the teacher Álvaro León Coral, who dedicates his free time to the Martial Arts project. A group of students who showed enthusiasm and commitment to the activity was formed. This group seeks to be trained to participate in external leagues and in the "supérate" games, as a way to strengthen the process.

Impact of the initiative

"Belonging to the school has contributed to my discipline, physical fitness and mental well-being; allowing me to have the opportunity to belong to a project that is not offered in schools in the sector."
-
Yesmith Posada Álvarez from grade 9
"Belonging to the school is an opportunity that the institution gives us to improve our quality of life; that allows us to strengthen values such as respect, humility and equity, in addition to opening many doors for us."
-
Oswaldo Pineda Martínez of grade 11

In Pies Descalzos we have the full conviction to continue supporting these processes, which enrich, strengthen and contribute significantly to the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN, and thus promote Quality Education to break the cycle of poverty in Colombia.
