Together with the Chamber of Books and the Universidad Externado de Colombia, we signed a new alliance to provide textbooks to primary school students in the cities of Barranquilla and Cartagena. We will also provide school libraries and training for teachers.
Within the framework of the International Book Fair, the organizations signed the agreement that establishes the delivery of more than 14,000 mathematics, language and reading plan textbooks to contribute to the strengthening of reading comprehension and critical thinking skills in students.

In addition, together with the Universidad Externado de Colombia, the Foundation will work on the development of a research project to measure the impact of the texts, the monitoring of the program and its results.
During the signing of the agreement, our executive director, Patricia Sierra, highlighted the importance of books and physical texts in the communities that the Foundation accompanies.
The project shows the will of three organizations, plus the publishers, that join forces to work and contribute to such an important topic as reading.
For the first time, school textbook publishers affiliated to the Colombian Chamber of Books, educational institutions in the public sector, which are accompanied by the Barefoot Foundation and a higher education institution such as the Universidad Externado de Colombia, to guarantee the schools involved and the country important results for the improvement of the quality of education in Colombia.
