As part of the "Circles of Care" project, 378 migrants and Colombian returnees and host communities received comprehensive support to strengthen their skills and improve their economic income.
In order to address one of the biggest barriers faced by migrants, Colombian returnees and host communities, the 'Circles of Care' project was created by the Hilton Foundation, the Pies Descalzos Foundation and the Promigas Foundation to facilitate their integration into the labor and educational system in the country.
The project is broken down into two essential pillars for transforming communities: a pedagogical component, which facilitates the access and adaptation of children to formal education, and another one of entrepreneurship, which assumes the mission of training families in entrepreneurship and financial sustainability, where 80% of the participants are women.
The 378 beneficiaries who are part of the entrepreneurship component, in addition to developing their skills and receiving seed capital to promote their ventures, receive psychosocial support that seeks to strengthen the emotional and social well-being of the entrepreneurs, fostering their autonomy, independence and personal development.
The participants, after successfully completing their training process in the framework of 'Circles of Care', have received certification in Entrepreneurial Skills and Life Skills.
The project also provides education and comprehensive support to migrant and returnee children and their families, facilitating their integration into the educational system and the challenges faced by their families in terms of income generation given the context in which they live.
