At Pies Descalzos School - Barranquilla, projects are being developed within the framework of plastic arts, music and dance. From there, multiple processes have been carried out in order to promote the artistic potential of the student community. 

In this way, we want to develop in them values of coexistence, respect, strengthening of self-esteem; with the objective of recognizing multiculturalism, diversity and difference.

Now, Ensembles are called the set of cultural representations such as dance, painting and music; being the latter where we will focus our attention for this occasion. 

It is important to highlight that the Music area created the different modalities existing in the institution, designed as a strategy to strengthen cultural values, the deployment of creative and expressive skills and, at the same time, to promote musical understanding and appreciation.

What groups are formed?

We found the "Pies Descalzos" Orchestra; the Folkloric Group "Semilla de Tambó"; the Vallenato Group "Los Mallorquinos"; and the Rock Group, which are made up entirely of students of the educational institution, graduates and some support people through the implementation of inter-institutional agreements. 

We want to highlight the dedication and appreciation for the music that these groups show; having as a result the fact of being able to participate in some local events, thus making known the talent of Pies Descalzos. We also want to recognize the important leadership and commitment of the teacher Rafael Orozco, who with his effort and dedication has cultivated each year a solid process that is maintained over time and that each time links more young people interested in art and culture.
