Our Intervention Model includes projects and activities that raise awareness and reinforce recognition as equals through difference.
Every year the District Educational Institution of Barranquilla Barefoot Foundation ends the school year with the event "Multicultural Colombia".
The activity brings children closer to the Colombian identity, reinforcing values such as solidarity, love and respect, regardless of race, religion or gender, cementing peace in everyday life.
This activity also highlighted teamwork, communication, cooperation and competitiveness, all in a set of sports, cultural and gastronomic activities that bring together the families of Pies Descalzos.
The main objective of the Social Sciences teachers is to rescue the cultural identity of Colombia, through an investigation of the customs and traditions of each of the regions that make up the country, thus becoming one of the school's flagship activities.
During the week of Multicultural Colombia, students and teachers lead activities each day that frame the cultural traditions of each of the zones. Students from each grade join together to represent one of the six regions of Colombia: Andean, Pacific, Caribbean, Orinoco, Amazon and Insular.
The entire educational community, from students to parents, come together to give color and shape to this activity through stands with all the relevant information of each territory, gastronomic, cultural and sports samples that frame the essence of being Colombian.
This whole week becomes a great institutional party in which all the members of the school take part.
