Alejandra Moreno, teacher at the María Berchmans School - Barefoot Foundation, describes herself as a warrior woman, who strives to achieve the goals she sets for herself, trying to do and give her best; mother of four children, and older sister of six siblings.

Teacher Alejandra Moreno reports that she has been with the Antonio Ricaurte Educational Institution for 12 years.

In December 2018 she was informed of her nomination to be part of the Todos Aprender program. Through her testimony we want to exalt her work and her motivations in the performance of her teaching work.

This is their testimony

"I decided to become a teacher because I really liked to help my siblings when they were studying; I also helped the neighbors in the neighborhood, my mother was a great motivation because she was illiterate, I did not want anyone else in my family to be left without learning; so I taught and I was called the "boss". My only fear to become a teacher was mathematics; I remember that sometimes I said that I would study something that had nothing to do with mathematics, but my desire to be a teacher was greater, so I made an effort in the area.

I began my teaching experience in "welfare homes" where my mother was a community mother and I was her assistant. There I understood that what I like most about being a teacher is being able to contribute to the integral formation of children; essentially in early childhood.

Last year I was notified of the nomination to be a tutor of the Todos Aprender program; because my performance evaluation average according to the decree that welcomes me (278) has had consecutively an average of 9, this is a reason to be promoted to tutor. When I received the news, I analyzed it, reflected on it, then I called the rector of the headquarters and ratified my decision not to accept the nomination. This is because I really like what I do; I see the result in my students and in the recognition that other people make about me.

From the moment I get to my classroom I feel full of self-confidence, I am very attentive to my students, and I also have a good relationship with the parents, because I believe that they and I must speak the same language in order to achieve good results in the education of children.

THANK YOU ALEJANDRA FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL WORK YOU ARE DOING!
