During the last few months the scientist Paola Tello visited us with her project "Antarctica for the Brave", an initiative that is carried out through educational, audiovisual and recreational workshops.

What is "Antarctica for the Brave"?

It is a project developed to discuss the role of women in science; as well as the importance of actions to take care of the planet. And who better to bring this project than Paola Tello, the first Colombian scientist selected to be part of Homeward Bound. This initiative is called "Mother Earth Needs Her Daughters" and is a global network of 1,000 women scientists trained to be leaders and influence the Earth's climate future.

Through the Quality Public Education intervention axis, we are interested in the development of decent learning environments. During the last year we have worked on the construction of a culture of care, the promotion of dignified and pleasant environments inside and outside the classroom, as well as the responsible use of environmental resources.

In this way, we call on the entire educational population to be aware of good practices for the care and protection of their environment.

Paola Tello's visit is connected to the work of Pies Descalzos, because through videos, the participating children had the opportunity to learn about Antarctica and understand how each of our actions and decisions influence climate change.

Today we want to thank Paola Tello, this Colombian pride and female empowerment. Thanks to her for sharing her knowledge and making kids aware of the importance of taking care of the planet.
