- More than 1,000 children in Quibdó, Cartagena and Barranquilla will now have playgrounds built from recycled plastic from the most anticipated musical tour of the year, thanks to the alliance between PepsiCo, Páramo Impacta, the Bogotá Recyclers Association (ARB), and the Pies Descalzos Foundation.

As part of its commitment to sustainability and social impact, the Pies Descalzos Foundation together with PepsiCo, Páramo Impacta and ARB delivered and inaugurated three playgrounds made from recycled plastic wood. These new infrastructures will benefit more than a thousand children from educational institutions supported by the Foundation in Quibdó, Cartagena and Barranquilla.

These playgrounds, built from recycled materials collected during the tour of the most internationally recognized Colombian artist, are the result of a comprehensive strategy of circular economy and environmental management that was implemented in the six concerts held in Barranquilla, Bogota and Medellin.

Thanks to a structured waste management plan, 54,721 kilograms of waste were collected. Of this figure, 50.91% went to the production of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), 14.71% to organic waste composting and the remaining 34.37% was transformed by specialized companies. This efficient management not only prevented waste from ending up in landfills, but also allowed it to be used to generate social and environmental value.

The work was carried out by 105 recyclers belonging to three local associations linked to Postobón's FARO program, which is permanently supported by PepsiCo. The material was then processed by ARB, which transformed it through an extrusion process into "flexible wood", the basis for these new children's infrastructures.

"At PepsiCo, we believe that sustainability should be at the center of everything we do with our consumers. This partnership demonstrates that, through Pepsi and with the support of the right partners, it is possible to properly manage waste at music events to generate less environmental impact and support the communities linked to our value chain. We are proud of the potential of our brands to inspire others to be "thirsty for more," especially for sustainability," said Alejandra Escobar, Director of Corporate Affairs PepsiCo Bebidas.

All this transformation was possible thanks to the logistical and strategic deployment of Páramo Impacta, which implemented collection centers in each stadium, along with 60 eco-guards (20 per city) in charge of guiding attendees in the correct separation of waste.

"At the Barefoot Foundation we believe that play is essential for children's development. That is why the playgrounds provided by our partners become a fundamental part of their educational experience: spaces where they can laugh, bond, develop skills and grow in safe and stimulating environments. Thanks to this joint work with Pepsico, Páramo Impacta and the Recycling Association of Bogotá, we reaffirm our commitment to continue building environments that dignify education and ensure that no child is left behind," says Patricia Sierra, executive director of Fundación Pies Descalzos.

This project demonstrates that sustainability is not an additional component, but the central axis of what great cultural and entertainment events can be. Thanks to the articulation between PepsiCo, Páramo Impacta, ARB and the Pies Descalzos Foundation, this tour not only brought music to thousands of people, but also left a replicable model of how massive events can be generous with the planet and positively impact communities.
