Caring for planet earth is everyone's business. Pies Descalzos is committed to generate spaces for reflection and action about the environment in which we live.
Thus, within the framework of Earth Day, the School Environmental Project (PRAE), led by the teachers of the Natural Sciences area and the Barefoot team, carried out a series of activities, which are also articulated with a comprehensive process of ecological reflection with all members of the educational community.
The children and youth of the IED Pies Descalzos - Lomas del Peyé, are involved in a process that seeks to form leaders who care for the environment. The students are the Environmental Caretakers in each of the classrooms and watch over the proper functioning of the green spaces and the recycling dynamics of each class.
Through the planting of trees, reflections on recycling and awareness activities on the care of water, land and nature, Earth Day was developed in the I.E.D Pies Descalzos - Cartagena. For these activities we counted with the participation of Hotel Santa Clara, for which we would like to give special thanks for their presence and collaboration.
Let us now reflect on the importance of creating these moments and spaces, not only in classrooms, but also in homes and in general in communities.
The processes generate significant learning in the population, which starts from an individual activity to achieve a collective benefit; fundamental learning in the development of a more tolerant, respectful and inclusive society.
Finally, let us remember that just as caring for the environment is everyone's business, so is building a better future and a more conscious society.
