Together with Shakira, we believe that each and every child in the world deserves a quality education. It was with this conviction that in recent days our founder made a call for all of us to be part of this construction, including the leaders who would meet at the G-20.

What is the G-20?

On July 7 and 8, the twelfth G-20 Summit was held in Hamburg. This occasion brought together 19 countries, plus the European Union, to address fundamental issues in the development of our society. For 2017, the central themes were: building resilience, improving sustainability and taking responsibility. The G-20 was created in 1999 with the aim of working together, from the economic sphere, for a better world on the eve of the new millennium.

On the other hand, the organization "The Education Commission", asked the G-20 leaders to include education as a central issue within their objectives. As part of the movement, public figures such as Shakira and Gordon Brown actively participated, who through their social networks asked the population to sign with them the petition to give all children the education they deserve.

From the Global Citizen, a benefit concert in which Shakira was present, along with Coldplay, Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding, Herbert Grönemeyer, among others, a call is made for the leaders, who are about to meet, to fulfill their promises to achieve a more equitable world. A world in which they join efforts to lift the most vulnerable societies out of poverty. To fulfill this promise, it is essential to have quality public education for all children and young people on the planet.
