The Pies Descalzos Foundation Educational Institution promotes research training as a transversal axis that allows to strengthen in a significant and integral way the students' learning.
As a graduation requirement in eleven years, students must present a research paper; a research seedbed that becomes a vital space for the present and future of young people.
At the school Fundación Pies DEscalzos-Lomas del Peyé, the delivery and presentation of the 2017 research projects by the eleventh grade students took place.
During the activity, we had the participation of an external jury, who pointed out that this type of pedagogical experiences:
"should be replicated in many other institutions, thus generating significant learning in the field of research".
This year's topics were relevant and adjusted to local context issues such as "The mistreatment of women in the community of San Bernardo" (where the school is located), "Informal trade on the beaches of Blas del Teso", "The contribution of language and dance to the Palenquera culture", "Social networks", "The low level of literacy among students", among others.
With this type of project, the Pies Descalzos Foundation is committed to a comprehensive intervention model that generates quality learning, educating not only for the present but also for the future, and thus teaching students useful tools for their working, university and socioemotional life.
