Quality Public Education is our main objective; in this context, we believe that infrastructure and learning environments are a second teacher and fundamental educational elements. Thus, we are convinced that quality education begins with decent learning spaces.
During the last weeks we developed improvements and adaptations in the Pies Descalzos de Quibdó headquarters. These structural modifications were made with the welfare of the educational community in mind; thanks to the new layout of the spaces, they gave way to the development of innovative methodologies in the classroom.
A tour of the school's facilities was conducted with the educational community and guests, in order to show the different changes and adjustments made to improve the educational quality of the students.
During the tour the community was introduced to: the new playground; the school restaurant; the soccer field and installation of soccer goals; the adjustments to the septic tank; the future inauguration of the toy library and the opening of the school store, which is a solution not only in terms of food supply, but also a security strategy for the institution. The tour culminated with a visit to the classrooms, where the attendees were able to learn about the redistribution of space in the classrooms, which gives way to the dual classroom model.
We counted with the presence of the Mayor, the Secretary of Education of the municipality of Quibdó, teachers, students and directors. At the end of the day, they took part in a symbolic act in which they wrote on a mural the agreements to which they are committed, in order to maintain the changes in the school and thus contribute to the educational quality of the children.
We thank all the donors who allow us to continue building dignified spaces, within which we want to offer quality education to Colombian children and young people. We would also like to thank the Mayor and Secretary of Education of Quibdó for showing their interest in continuing to support and accompany the educational process of the students.
