Together with the Ministry of Education, the Santo Domingo Foundation, the Pies Descalzos Foundation and Educate A Child, a program of the Education Above All Foundation, we launched the campaign "Este Cuento es Tuyo" (This Story is Yours).
This campaign seeks to promote access to and permanence in school in Colombia in order to achieve complete educational trajectories within the framework of alternating attendance of students throughout the country.
The campaign sends a message to families, communities, authorities and actors in the education sector to promote access, wellbeing and permanence in school. In particular, it calls on parents to enroll their children and accompany them during their development.
Through its messages, the campaign also reminds children and adolescents that participating in educational processes allows them to develop their abilities and talents, enrich their interests and criteria and, from there, build their life project and become the protagonists of their own history.

"Este Cuento es Tuyo" complements the efforts of the "Todos al Coleo" project. "Todos al Cole" (Everyone to School)an initiative that aims to promote school permanence through the active search for the out-of-school population, the strengthening of pedagogical practices, and the construction of classrooms in territories such as Bogota, Chocó, Medellin, Cartagena, Barranquilla and some border areas in the departments of La Guajira, Norte de Santander and Arauca.
"Our commitment to the children and young people of the country is to move forward quickly with the return to alternating attendance, in order to favor permanence and the achievement of complete educational trajectories. The return, in addition to generating benefits in their learning process, will guarantee their right to education and allow them to continue in the classroom," said the Minister of Education, María Victoria Angulo, when presenting this campaign aimed at ensuring that students remain in the system.
"Education has a significant impact on people's lives, it is the most powerful tool to promote social mobility and equity."
Therefore, we seek to guarantee relational, pedagogical, material and social conditions so that all children and adolescents feel recognized, respected and welcomed, and can explore and perfect their skills and abilities that will allow them to occupy the transcendental place that corresponds to them in the transformation of reality.
For Patricia Sierra, executive director of Fundación Pies Descalzos, "schools, in addition to being learning spaces, are also places of protection for many children. Therefore, the closure of classrooms has affected students in the cognitive and socioemotional areas. Likewise, cases of school lags and dropouts have worsened as a result of the situation. From 'Todos al Cole' we want to mitigate these problems, promote school permanence in alternation and strengthen public education, because children are the future, but above all they are the present".
They also seek to strengthen education in a comprehensive manner, i.e., greater access opportunities and better learning quality for the nearly 10 million students enrolled in preschool, elementary and middle school.
Those interested in enrolling their sons, daughters or relatives should contact the Secretary of Education of the territory where they are located. All procedures in official schools are free of charge and each Secretariat establishes a schedule and accompanies the activities related to the enrollment of students. To facilitate this process, a website was created for the campaign "Este Cuento es Tuyo" (This Story is Yours), where you can learn about the points of attention, as well as information of interest about the enrollment process.
