In the Barefoot Foundation our purpose is to form competent citizens for their environment, with integrity, tolerance, a sense of belonging, with leadership skills, capable of contributing to the transformation of the lifestyle of the community and with full knowledge of the social changes that surround them.
In accordance with the democratic principles framed in our political constitution, we promote student participation mechanisms that support participatory democracy.
It was within this context how the process of presentation and election of the 2018 student ombudsman was carried out.
The activity consisted of the presentation of the student candidates and the proposals of their leadership projects, before the entire educational community. It also allowed the eleventh grade students/candidates Keila Jaime Pérez and José David Muegues Santana to debate and argue about the vision they have of the school, their academic purposes, the way they perceive the processes of their teachers and classmates, as well as the proposals to be executed as possible representatives of the institution.
After this activity, the process of election of the student ombudsman was developed, which counted with the vote of the students of transition, elementary and high school. The voting process was electronic, and directed by the school's social sciences teachers. Finally, the winner was the student José David Muegues.
