What is it?

A project that seeks to promote access to and permanence in school for primary school children who are disengaged from the educational system or at risk of dropping out, and to guarantee their permanence, through strategies such as the Centro Aprende and the construction of adequate educational spaces.

Addressed to:

Primary school children disengaged from the education system and their communities.

How is it done?

In partnership with Educate A Child, the project is being developed in Barranquilla, Cartagena, Quibdó, La Guajira, Medellín and Bogotá. Implementing active searches, delivering school kits and uniforms, and providing pedagogical support after school hours through Centros Aprende.

What impact is expected?

+54,000 children who are outside the school system and/or at risk of dropping out. +4,000 children benefited through educational spaces.

I didn't like coming to school before, I was losing the year but when I started coming to barefoot classes I wanted to go back to school and get through the year. I have learned to be more friendly and less painful. I like it because in the classes we play, paint and have fun.
