The Ciudad Bicentenario school, located in the country's largest low-income housing project, will have capacity for 960 students each year. This educational development seeks to reduce poverty in the region and close the educational gap in Colombia. The Villa de Aranjuez Educational Institution has a block of 26 new classrooms, 4 for preschool and 22 for elementary and middle school. It also includes a library, laboratory, bilingual classrooms, multiple courts, technology room, school cafeteria, recreational areas and 44 restrooms. As part of the "Open Door School" strategy, this space seeks to be a Development and Empowerment Center for the community.
Built in 2014, the Pies Descalzos Foundation School - Lomas del Peyé was the second educational institution built by the Foundation and serves more than 1,000 children per year in the La María neighborhood, one of the most vulnerable in the city of Cartagena.
The construction of the educational center includes classrooms, a dining room, and batteries for 600 students per year, who live in encroachment areas, specifically behind the city's airport.
Near the main road of Uribia, we intervened the headquarters of the Marco Tulio Montiel Agricultural and Livestock Educational Institution, a boarding school that hosts migrant and indigenous population of the Wayúu community. The project was a commitment to the complete remodeling of the educational center and consists of classrooms, dining room, kitchen, technology classroom, toilets, mill, water tank and solar panels.
In the urban area of the municipality of Manaure, we intervened in an educational center with batteries and a dining room to serve 100 children living in the municipality.
We delivered an intervention in Ware Waren, with classrooms, dining room and toilets that impact 100 students per year in the rural area of the municipality. We want to continue promoting quality education with spaces that encourage learning and promote access and permanence in school for children and adolescents.
The construction of the Norberto Iguarán building in Maicao was completed in January 2023 and impacts more than 200 students per year. The new space has restrooms, a multi-purpose room and classrooms to provide a dignified and quality education.
In 2022 we delivered the Kanewuakat educational farm in Manaure, a space that is transforming the education of 200 Wayúu students every year. This Caracas Ruleya ethno-educational center has classrooms, a dining room, kitchen and toilets, and is designed to strengthen cultural identity and improve learning. Inspired by the ancestral origins of La Guajira, Kanewuakat unites tradition and modern education, creating new opportunities for future generations in the savannah of Manaure.
We will strengthen education in El Catatumbo, supporting students with the delivery of a new school that will accommodate more than 960 girls and boys per year, with a fully equipped school to promote Quality Education.
The Villas de San Pablo Educational Institution will open its doors in 2026 with a capacity for 960 students. Built on a lot of almost 12,000 m², it will have a resource center, integrated laboratory, technology, innovation and multimedia classrooms, arts workshops, and multipurpose spaces that will promote learning from preschool through high school.
The Pies Descalzos Nuevo Bosque Educational Institution, in the El Bosque neighborhood, is a project for 960 students, built on a 6,073 m² lot. Its innovative design integrates outdoor spaces and classrooms to create a dynamic learning environment. Every nook and cranny invites discovery, from courtyards that extend classes outdoors to stations and surfaces to bring ideas to life.
In 2008 we built the first Pies Descalzos educational institution in Barranquilla, a space where hundreds of children and young people began to dream of a better future. Since then, we have remained committed to the city, creating safe and dignified spaces for learning, and bringing opportunities to those who need them most.
We are building a new headquarters for the INTAR Educational Institution, which will bring together its entire community in a space of 12,758 m², with 6,000 m² of constructed area and capacity for 960 students per year. Currently, the infrastructure projects in Quibdó are in the architectural studies phase, and we expect to inaugurate the school by the end of 2023 to start the school year in 2024.
In 2005 we opened the María Bershmans branch of the Antonio Ricaurte Educational Institution -INTAR, for elementary school children. Since then, thousands of students have received support to discover their potential and build a path full of possibilities.
