Pies Descalzos Foundation and Ayuda en Acción Foundation, with the support of the Cundinamarca’s Provincial Government and Soacha’s Mayor’s office, will open “Bosques de la Esperanza” sports field in the commune VI at Altos de Cazucá, Soacha that will hold sport, recreational and academic activities.
The event will have the presence of the Minister of Education, Maria Fernanda Campo; Cundinamarca’s Governor, Andrés González; Soacha’s Mayor, Jose Ernesto Martínez; the Ayuda en Acción Foundation’s President, Jaime Montalvo; the Executive Director of Pies Descalzos Foundation, Patricia Sierra; and the Cazucá’s neighbors.
The sports field’s structure has a 1744 square meters horizontal surface and a 700 square meters dome that “evokes a mass of trees as a symbol of nature, union and hope”, over this zone at Altos de Cazucá, said the architect Giancarlo Mazzanti. Also, 200 additional square meters will be build for Gabriel García Marquez School, that will allow to increase the education coverage and will improve the condition to 1.400 children.
In 2009, during the 40 Principales concert in Madrid, Ayuda en Acción Foundation received the recognition because it’s work in social responsability and gave the donation to Pies Descalzos Foundation, in order to iniciate an important project. Since then, the Pies Descalzos Foundation looked for new alliances to finance this work that symbolically represents a forest. During the construction, the Cundinamarca’s Provincial Government, the Soacha’s Mayor’s office and Cemex, among other, joined to the project.
